About
Brilliant Car Wash (Northcote, VIC) is a budget-friendly, no-frills car wash where you clean your ride yourself. It’s open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so you can swing by anytime.
Google rating sits at 3.2, so it’s not flawless, but plenty of locals still reckon it’s worth a go if you’re nearby. The place is mainly self-serve, with self-wash bays and vacuums on site. There are no staff on-site to help with the wash.
Payment can be a bit fiddly: coins are accepted and cash is handy for the change machine, which is often out of order. Card options exist, but EFTPOS readers can be unreliable or missing, especially at the vacuums. A typical auto wash runs around $10 to $20, and a dollar buys a few minutes of vacuum time.
Reviewers mention dog wash facilities and even carpet pegs for washing mats, but these are frequently out of order or poorly maintained. Some customers have had good experiences, noting strong water pressure and a generally clean, well-kept site when things are running. If you’re after a cheap, no-fuss wash and don’t mind a few hiccups, it’s worth a shot.
Automatic Features
Auto car wash available (including touchless option) and four sections of manual wash, plus self-serve wash bays and vacuum stations.
Self Service Features
Self-serve wash bays are available, but the self-serve washers frequently malfunction. Payment options are unreliable: the EFTPOS function on vacuums is often unavailable or not working, and the coin change machine is almost always out of order.
Pricing Overview
Auto washes: generally priced from about $10 to $20, with a common full wash around $12. Vacuum use: commonly $1 for 3 minutes; some reviews cite $5 for 10 minutes.
